Livestock Information Service

This ALPHA release of the Developer Hub offers early access to essential API documentation for 3rd-party software developers. It provides critical information for integrating software and applications with the future Livestock Information Service (LIS) technology platform.

Next year, brand-new LIS APIs will be introduced, allowing livestock keepers for Cattle, Bison and Buffalo to electronically submit, view, modify, and confirm livestock movements through their farm management software. The ALPHA specifications are available on this site; however, please note that all content may change over the coming months as the LI programme and technical teams finalise the details.

This website provides comprehensive details on the various types of livestock movements and how the new service will manage them. You will find sections outlining the steps for submitting, reviewing, correcting, and viewing movements, recording animal births, reporting deaths and kills, managing notifications, digital record-keeping, handling lost, found, and stolen animals, and maintaining animal records.
